Description

The mountain lake Chandratal ("Moon lake") is located in the Spiti valley at an altitude of 4250 m above sea level. It got its name due to its crescent shape. The lake is one of the gems of Himachal Pradesh. The mirror-like surface of the blue water among the multicolored mountains and greenery around leaves no one indifferent. You must visit this magic, peaceful place.

We can start from anywhere between Kullu and Manali, depending on where you are.

Day 1

We drive by car to the lake (about 6 hours from Manali) and set up a tent camp, have dinner. It is not allowed to put up a tent near the lake, so we will spend the night a little before reaching the lake.

Day 2

We have breakfast at the camp. We drive from the camp to the lake, walk there, return back to Kullu / Manali / Naggar. On the way back we have lunch at Batal.
